Boutique Hotel in a Jungle Paradise

We had a car which was great when needed, but the jungle walk into Sayulita was charming. The pool was big and clean, and the perfect temperature and the rooms were clean and modern.

Breakfasts were wonderful. Steven and Terri were helpful and welcoming but also respectful of our privacy and gave us some atv tour cozumel tips. The unexpected highlight of the week was the dogs of Hacienda de la Costa.

Steven and Terri have taken it upon themselves to adopt homeless dogs. They were the most exceptional dogs! The compassion and care for each of these dogs were touching. Also, their genuine and active concern for local wildlife was inspirational.

The hacienda is a 10-minute walk to several beautiful, white sandy beaches. Whether you like to walk the beach, swim or simply enjoy the sunshine, you will be happy. On both of our trips, the beaches were practically empty – a very private experience.

Steve, Terri, and their small team are fantastic. They provided excellent recommendations for day trips, restaurants, shops, and information about the community. We took all of their advice and were very happy we did!

And, did I mention the breakfasts? Terri is a fantastic cook, providing the most delicious Mexican breakfasts each day (see our photo examples). The food is fresh and flavourful, all served poolside, with the Pacific Ocean as a backdrop.

I cannot overstate how impressed we have been with the Hacienda de la Costa. We love it, and I am sure we will be back!
